Sooooo.....the half marathon training has begun. I thought I was relatively fit as I have just cycled 250 miles across Kenya for Women V Cancer - all that pedalling took some pretty hardcore training (Kenya you see is not flat, although I'm sure, like I did, you imagine it would be because of all those plains and stuff. It is in actual fact, really bloody hilly- mountainous even!!), anyhew, it seems that I haven't quite got the running side of things up to speed yet!
I managed 2 miles in 26 minutes. How poop is that?! I've been told that I should be aiming for a ten minute mile as I start out. Still, it was my first attempt and hopefully by this time next month I will be far better at maintaining a good speed for longer.
It all feels at bit Run Fat Boy Run (one of my fave films ever) at the moment, but even our hero managed to finish the race and so I have confidence that I will too (although I won't be racing ... I'll be happy just to finish!!!)
