Technical difficulties

Just a little note to say sorry about the technical look of the blog at the moment. After a very difficult summer, I jumped back on the keyboard and decided to change a few things about youngandwasted. The first being it's name. I'm not that young anymore.....or so my body keeps telling me after a bottle of wine or six, and after said difficult summer, I don't feel wasted anymore.

Initially the blog was developed because I was fed up with my life. I felt like I had been overlooked for various jobs that I would have loved to have taken on. However, following three devastating deaths of those close to me this year, I have realised that everything happens for a reason. I wasn't supposed to get a fantastic job and move away to London or New York, because I was meant to stay here and build relationships with the friends and family that I have. Over the last few months, I have realised more than ever how incredibly lucky I am to know these people. We've made some fantastic memories together and are now closer than ever. In short, my life hasn't been wasted.

So yeah, tried to change the name, however it all went a bit tits up and I couldn't think of anything that was more appropriate. In fiddling, I also managed to destroy the layout of the flipping thing too! I love to write but technical I am not. I'm now at a stage where if anything else goes wrong with the blog, I'm going to kung fu pow my computer out of the French windows and so, I have given up for today. I think it's wise. Hopefully full service will be resumed soon!!

Things I've heard

" I should like to bury something precious in every place I have been happy and then when I am old, ugly and miserable I could come back, dig it up and remember ."

I love,love , love

I love, love, love BBC 3's Bad Education at the moment, staring and written by the brilliant Jack Whitehall . I can't believe I've only just discovered it!

Definitely a series to get into with one of my all time favourite comedians in the world ever! Follow catastrophically appalling teacher Alfie as he struggles to get through the school year with hilarious consequences.

Also staring the brilliant Mathew Horne as Headteacher Fraser and Sarah Solemani as Alfie's crush.

Tuesdays 10pm BBC 3

If I won the lottery I would...

If I won the lottery I would NOT be straight out looking for a posh car! Following a conversation last night when I was asked about the car I would choose if money was no object, I suddenly realised that smoking wheels don't necessarily interest me. Dont get me wrong I'd love a little pink soft top but I truly believe that if money were no object my first port of call would be the big wide world. I'd love to see as many different countries and bathe in as many different cultures as possible..that's my idea of heaven!

I love,love,love

I love,love,love Hollyoaks!!! I've been A
Fan for as long As I can remember and it just keeps getting better and better!! Often a leader in cutting edge soap storylines, the show rarely gets the recognition it deserves, so here I am giving it a big love, love, love!

As for who killed Lynsey- I reckon a certain Will has something he's hiding....oooh Savage!!!

Love,love,love

Johnny Depp, albums, fishbubble, johnny, depp, have, affinity, damaged, people, lifeI love, love, love the delectable Johnny Depp. Bit of an obvious choice I suppose, but having just watched him in Finding Neverland (bit behind the times I know!!), I simply can't think of another actor who is so versatile, believable and as truly talented as the delicious Mr Depp. I'm looking forward to his next offering; Dark Shadows. It looks fab!

If I won the lottery I would.......

Definately book myself a trip with Intrepid Travel.com and my first port of call would be the Cape Town to Victoria Falls trip.

Highlights listed are:

Tracking with the San Bushmen of Namibia, Spotting exotic wildlife on a game drive through Etosha National Park, Hearing the roar of the mighty Victoria Falls, Gliding down Botswana's Okavango Delta on a canoe, Scrambling to the top of one of the world's highest sand dunes, Beholding the beauty of South Africa's Cape Town, Witnessing the immensity of the rocky Spitzkoppe and visiting the seal colonies of Cape Cross.

I couldn't imagine anything more perfect!

If I won the lottery

If I won the lottery I would.........

Jet off to South Africa and catch me some rays on Camps Bay beach. After a volunteering trip in 2007, I fell in love with Cape Town and everything in it. Nestled below Table Mountain, Camps Bay is like a little slice of heaven on earth....oh to be there now!

If I won the lottery I would......

Yet another new feature, "If I won the lottery I would," talks about the things I would do if I won the lottery......It's always nice to dream!

As the only UK charity dedicated to helping women and families affected by cervical cancer, Jo's Cervical Cancer Care, established in 1999 by James Maxwell, strive to provide information on everything from cervical screening to providing support to those who are diagnosed with cervical cancer. Through their forum board sufferers can get in touch with each other to share stories and tips and a team of medical experts are on hand to provide any information those going through cervical cancer might need to know.

Every year in the UK over 2,800 women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer and nearly 1000 women will die from the disease, but with charities like Jo's Cervical Cancer trust on hand to help, those dark times can seem so much brighter for those affected.
