Another day, another grey sky sitting firmly outside the bedroom window, taunting us that winter's on it's way. As the months pass all too quickly into Christmas, the duvet seems like the best thing to hibernate under until the sun comes out again.
Fear not though readers! Getting up doesn't need to be so hard! Just follow these simple little tips.......
.
Alarm clocks are horrible things, blaring like a fish wife on acid they wake you suddenly from your sleep, meaning that the forecast for the rest of the day firmly remains dull and cloudy. Instead, set a radio alarm clock to come on to your favourite radio station fifteen minutes before you need to get up. Music will help you to wake slowly and naturally, leaving you feeling less harassed and far more willing to start the day.

Stretching helps to get the blood flowing and release any tension built during the night. Try a few light yoga moves to shake that 'just woken up' feeling.

First and foremost, drinking water first thing will help you get into the habit of drinking water - sounds obvious, but most of us don't achieve our daily recommended intake. Start the day as you mean to go on and you can't go far wrong. Secondly, satisfying your thirst early in the day also means that you will be less likely to snack mid-morning or reach for sugary drinks on the way to the office.
Hot water with lemon is also said to be brilliant for flushing out any toxins floating around the body.

Finally, the best way to wake yourself up is to jump in a sumptuous hot shower. Choose shower gels with uplifting properties and sing along to your favourite songs as you sud up - works every time!
