One last thing

One Last Thing

And so, here it is, the end of my blog. The end of my whole adventure in fact and what an adventure it has been!

If I was ever asked to give someone one piece of advice in life it would be to do something like the Women V Cancer challenge. Just over a year ago I had no idea just how hard and yet how rewarding the whole thing would be, how many friends and family would step up to the mark to help me raise all that money for such worthy causes and how many friends I would make when I finally went out to Kenya.

It’s so hard to put into words just what a difference the whole experience made to my life, let alone the lives of women and their families who are currently dealing with cancer. We’ve all made a difference.

I’d like to say a big, big thank you to everybody who got involved in my fundraising in any way, to everybody that wished me well and to all those lovely ladies who were in Group Five and made Women V Cancer Cycle Kenya February 2012, the experience of a lifetime.

I would also like to say a ‘HUGE,’ thank you to Henk, Ann and the wonderful support team we had all the way through the challenge. The work that they put into keeping us safe was just phenomenal. And, sorry we teased you Henk, but it’s only because we love you!!! : )

Ann Frampton is a very special woman and if the world was full of Ann’s it would be a better place. I urge everyone to visit the Action for Charity website and consider signing up for one of the challenges on offer. DO IT NOW!!!

For me now life goes on, but I know myself that I’ve changed. Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m still the same old pain in the butt I ever was and I’ll still moan at things I don’t need to moan over! But I have this wonderful memory forever in my heart now and when things get tough I know I can overcome them. I have been totally inspired by women who have fought demons face to face that I have only ever had nightmares about and I have gained the courage to go out into the world and grab life with both hands…..oh and yes….I have seemed to have picked up a knack for barfing out clichés at every turn, but that’s just my gushing sense of pride and achievement going into overdrive at the moment…I’ll get it in hand!!!

Here’s to the next challenge!!
